Star Ocean Second Story R Is Now Available for Switch 2

The Nintendo official store now lists the Nintendo Switch 2 version of STAR OCEAN THE SECOND STORY R as available. The action RPG remake, previously released for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC, has now been separately listed for Switch 2.

Gematsu reported that this Switch 2 version has launched on the Nintendo eShop, with the U.S. eShop price listed at $49.99. Korean availability and local pricing remain in a price check needed state.

What existing Switch version owners should check first

The most sensitive points are saves and upgrades. Gematsu noted that the Switch 2 version is not compatible with save data from the existing Switch version, and that there is also no upgrade path from the Switch version to the Switch 2 version.
