30th Promo Card Pack Coming to Gym Battles

The official Pokémon Card Game 30th anniversary site has revealed the 30th Promo Card Pack lineup and its distribution route. The pack will be offered as a limited Gym Battle participation reward at eligible Pokémon Card Gym locations in Japan.

How the Gym Battle reward will change

From September 16, 2026 through January 31, 2027, one of the two usual one-card promo packs awarded for Gym Battle participation will be replaced by one 30th Promo Card Pack. The reward listing promises one 30th pack per participation but does not state how many cards are inside that pack.

Quantities are limited, and distribution will end when supplies run out. The prizes may change without notice and could be distributed through other methods later.

Seven Pokémon get different artwork

The announced lineup features Greninja ex, Sylveon ex, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Alolan Exeggutor, and Lucario. Each appears with artwork different from its version in the 30th Celebration expansion.

Greninja ex is highlighted as a fast attacker with low Energy requirements. Its follow-up attack can deal more damage depending on damage counters on a Pokémon in either the Active Spot or on the Bench. Sylveon ex’s Colorful Harmony scales with the number of Basic Energy types attached across the player’s Pokémon, reaching 400 damage with eight types.

Another route through the anniversary event

The pack will also be distributed at the Pokémon Card Game 30th CELEBRATION EVENT. Additional 30th-anniversary events are planned at Pokémon Card Gyms from October, with further details to be announced later.
