SNACK: 3-line summary
- Xbox Insiders can preview Mythic Achievements starting September 29.
- Completing a game’s original achievements earns Mythic status; later DLC and update achievements are not required.
- Eligible past completions, including Xbox 360 games, can count, but a wider rollout has not been announced.
Xbox is giving Insiders an early look at Mythic Achievements starting September 29. The new status recognizes completion of a game’s original achievements, so challenges added later through DLC or updates do not stand in the way.

Snackgirls react
Red: I’d check my old Xbox 360 completions first. Finding one newly recognized as Mythic would be a nice surprise.
Nea: I’d revisit a favorite I never quite finished and use the original-achievement filter to see what remains. That’s the sort of unfinished business I remember.
The original game sets the goal
To earn Mythic status, players need every original achievement for an eligible game. Later additions are labeled separately and are not required. Once earned, Mythic status stays.
Old completions can count
Eligible games completed in the past have received Mythic status retroactively, including Xbox 360 titles. That does not mean every older game qualifies, but Insiders may find a completion already recognized when they check their profiles.
Finding what is left to unlock
A new Gaming tab in the profile shows achievement history, completed games, the next Gamerscore milestone badge and friends’ Gaming tabs. Achievement lists add a Mythic progress bar and a filter for original achievements still needed; related progress also appears in the Guide and achievement details.
These features are in an Insider preview. Xbox has not announced when they will be available to all players.
