SNACK: 3-line summary
- The original 2006 English Mew Star delta species is a Water-type Pokémon that can copy an opponent’s attack.
- Mew still needs the copied attack’s Energy and must meet its other requirements.
- Rainbow Wave’s targets depend on the type of a basic Energy card attached to Mew.
Mew Star delta species is a Water-type Basic Pokémon with 70 HP on its original 2006 English EX Dragon Frontiers card, numbered 101/101. Its Mimicry attack lets it borrow an opponent’s attack—but Mew must have the necessary Energy and meet the other requirements to use it.

Snackgirls react
Red: I’d love to get the Energy ready and try an opponent’s own attack. I’d be scouting their Bench for a move worth borrowing, too.
Nea: Mew’s Water-type delta species identity is what draws me in. I’d like to explore how choosing different attached basic Energy cards changes Rainbow Wave’s targets.
Mimicry can reach the opponent’s Bench
Mimicry lets you choose an attack on one of your opponent’s Pokémon in play, including a Benched Pokémon. Pokémon in the opponent’s hand, deck or discard pile are outside that selection.
Mimicry’s printed cost is one Colorless Energy, but that alone is not enough for every attack you might choose. If Mew Star lacks the Energy required for the copied attack, Mimicry does nothing. You must also fulfill any other requirements of that attack.
Rainbow Wave follows the attached basic Energy
Rainbow Wave has a printed cost of one Water Energy and asks you to choose one basic Energy card attached to Mew Star. You cannot choose Energy from your hand or select a Special Energy card.
The attack does 20 damage to each opposing Pokémon of the chosen Energy card’s type. Do not apply Weakness or Resistance to Benched Pokémon. Mew’s own Water typing does not restrict the attack to Water-type targets—the basic Energy you select determines which type it hits.
