Red That navy metal body is the bit I want to see up close. I’m curious how the smaller, screw-fastened housings feel in the hand.

Nea The Da Capo name makes me want to revisit an orchestral game soundtrack from its opening track. I’d be curious to hear a familiar opening on these.

Why final changed the diaphragm material

According to final, the original A8000, released in 2019, was discontinued because its True Beryllium diaphragm material became difficult to source. The new model’s DC name comes from Da Capo, the musical instruction to return to the beginning.

The new dynamic driver uses what final calls a True Magnesium diaphragm, made from its own magnesium alloy rather than pure magnesium. It pairs this with a special polyurethane surround, forming the diaphragm and surround together without adhesive. final reports lower distortion around 10 Hz than with the original A8000.

A navy steel shell built with repairs in mind

The machined stainless-steel housings have a navy ion-plated finish and are smaller than the A8000’s, according to final. Housing assembly and driver mounting use screws instead of adhesive to make long-term repairs easier. That construction does not mean the internals are intended for owner disassembly.

Owners can replace the dust filters themselves, using the included spare filters and maintenance tool. For fitting, both FUSION-G and TYPE P ear tips are supplied in SS, S, M, L and LL sizes.

Check the 4.4 mm output—and leave the MMCX connections alone

The supplied cable ends in a 4.4 mm plug, so check that your player or DAC has a compatible headphone output before use.

The cable’s MMCX connections are detachable, but final says the high-precision connectors are deliberately difficult to insert and remove. The company does not recommend recabling or disconnecting them except when replacement is needed because of a fault.

Preorders opened in Japan on October 23, 2026. The official store price is ¥258,000 including tax.
