Samsung Korea offers 20% Onnuri gift certificates on select purchases

Samsung Korea is using gift certificates, not a simple checkout discount, for its new “Thank You Festival.” The campaign gives eligible Korea-based buyers digital Onnuri gift certificates equal to 20% of the purchase amount. The first thing to know is that this is a domestic Korea promotion, not a global Samsung sale.

Event period

Samsung Korea lists the campaign period as June 8 to July 5, 2026. Local coverage describes it as a four-week program, with expected Onnuri gift certificate issuance of about KRW 400 billion.

The purchase window and the application window should be treated separately. bntnews reports that Samsung.com benefit applications are accepted until September 30. Receipts, order numbers or carrier activation documents may matter depending on where the product was bought.

Eligible products and exclusions

Samsung’s official page describes the benefit as applying to product purchases and says applications are allowed for up to two units per same item category. The practical scope covers many Samsung product families such as mobile devices, PCs, TVs, kitchen appliances and home appliances.

The exclusions are important. Samsung lists Dacor, Harman, consumables, accessories and some other products as excluded. Carrier-sold mobile products are handled with fixed model-by-model benefit amounts rather than a simple open-ended calculation.

Samsung also attaches subscription support to its AI Subscription Club. The official page mentions membership-point support for six months of subscription fees on qualifying plans, with different terms for PC, tablet, monitor, robot vacuum, TV and appliance categories.

How to apply

This is not an automatic payout. According to bntnews, buyers must use the Samsung.com app or website promotion application page. Login and Samsung membership registration are part of the flow.

For carrier-purchased Galaxy phones, the reported process includes choosing the purchase category, agreeing to device information collection, selecting the carrier, uploading activation documents, accepting the terms and submitting the entry. For offline purchases, order numbers or receipts can be attached to the application.

The certificates are issued through the buyer’s digital Onnuri app account. They are meant for Korean local-market merchants and participating payment routes, so the benefit only has practical value for people who can use digital Onnuri in Korea.

Appliances that make the most sense

The 20% certificate should not be treated as identical to cash at checkout. Still, it can be meaningful if the purchase was already planned. Large-ticket, long-life products such as refrigerators, kimchi refrigerators, washer-dryer sets, air conditioners, robot vacuums and TVs are the cleanest candidates.

Small accessories and excluded brands are not the center of this promotion. A better approach is to start from a product already on the shopping list, confirm that it is an eligible model, then compare the final effective value after the Onnuri certificate.

K-Hero buyers have a different path. Samsung’s page says military, police, fire and correctional officers can receive an additional 10% benefit on top of the Onnuri certificate, reaching a 30% headline benefit. The condition is tied to qualifying models through Samsung’s Family Mall, so it should not be mixed up with ordinary retail purchases.

Why this is Korea-only

The promotion depends on Korean Samsung retail channels, Samsung.com Korea applications and digital Onnuri gift certificates that are used in Korea. Buying a Samsung product overseas does not reproduce the same benefit path.
