GitHub said in its official changelog on June 29 that Claude Opus 4.8 fast mode is rolling out gradually as a GitHub Copilot preview. Fast mode is described as a mode that provides faster output token speed while maintaining the same intelligence as Claude Opus 4.8.
The support range is also broad. Why it matters for agent coding
