HG Ground Type Gundam Recreates The 08th MS Team’s Opening Descent

BANDAI SPIRITS is reissuing the HG 1/144 Ground Type Gundam (Parachute Pack Type) from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. Its parachute rig brings the OVA opening’s descent scene to the display shelf, while the alternate head and extensive loadout leave room to stage a different configuration.

The opening descent, rebuilt in 1/144 scale

The parachute pack recreates the equipment seen during the OVA’s opening descent. The lid on the upper central block is supplied as a separate part, adding a distinct construction detail to the rig.

The GM Head configuration is one swap away

A newly sculpted Ground Type GM head is included and can replace the Gundam head to recreate the in-story Ground Type Gundam GM Head configuration. The alternate part changes the displayed unit without requiring a second kit.

From the 180 mm cannon to the net gun

The included equipment comprises a 100 mm machine gun, beam sabers, shield, 180 mm cannon, container, missile launcher, rocket launcher and net gun. Premium Bandai reservations are scheduled to begin at 11:00 JST on September 8, 2026, at 2,420 yen including tax, with shipping planned for February 2027. The PS and PE assembly model is shown in published photos as a painted prototype, which may differ from the final product.
