Kirari: Exodia rising behind those three cards already gives the display a dramatic center. I’d shoot it from a low angle with Yami Yugi in front to make the scale feel even bigger.
Nea: The tribute to that first-episode summoning is the detail I keep coming back to. I’m curious how the official design will preserve its tension as the concept is refined.
LEGO Ideas has named Step_on_a_Brick’s The Heart of the Cards – Exodia the Grand Prize Selection of the Yu-Gi-Oh! It’s Time to Duel! challenge. The winning concept will now become an official LEGO Ideas set—and the first official LEGO Yu-Gi-Oh! set.
Exodia rises from three brick-built cards
The 1,913-piece fan submission depicts an articulated brick-built Exodia emerging behind three brick-built cards, with a smaller articulated Yami Yugi figure positioned in front. The display pays homage to Exodia’s summoning in the first episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters anime.
What the LEGO Ideas selection means
Winning the challenge moves Step_on_a_Brick’s concept into development as an official product. The LEGO Ideas design team will refine the model before its retail design is finalized.
The retail details are still to come
As of September 15, 2026, LEGO has not announced the final design, set number, price, release date or final piece count. The submitted model’s 1,913-piece count therefore does not describe the finished retail set.
