One UI 9 rollout begins with the Galaxy S26 series

SNACK Summary in 3 Lines

  • Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra lead the official One UI 9 rollout
  • Daily-use additions include My FanCam, editable Now Brief cards and Now Nudge
  • Security Brief and on-device Privacy Alerts added, with availability varying by device and market

Snackgirls react

Kirari — My FanCam keeping one person centered as the scene moves sounds made for busy stage clips. I’d want to see how it handles a group constantly crossing the frame.

AIKO — Background permissions rarely introduce themselves. An on-device Privacy Alert is a suitably direct way to start that conversation.

Samsung has begun the official One UI 9 rollout for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Other Galaxy devices are expected to follow gradually, so this is not a same-day release across the entire lineup.

The Galaxy S26 series opens the next rollout wave

One UI 9 debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8. Samsung is now extending it to the Galaxy S26 series, while timing for later devices remains gradual and market-dependent.

My FanCam and smarter cards reshape everyday tasks

My FanCam follows a selected person in recorded video and reframes the scene to keep them centered. It requires a Samsung Account, and results depend on the video. Now Brief adds Generative and Editable Cards for areas such as health, weather and video, while Now Nudge can surface reservation details or save a shared location without leaving a message conversation.

Interpreter gains a Thread View for earlier translated exchanges, faster Conversation Mode translation and quicker playback with compatible Galaxy Buds. Document Scan better handles curved pages and folded corners, while Voice Recorder organizes summaries with clearer headings and tables.

Security Brief brings warnings into view

Security Brief places alerts for malware, apps from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions inside Now Brief. On supported Galaxy phones and tablets, Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to identify possible risks from background permissions.

Samsung also lists Japan, Canada and India among the expansion markets for Scam Detection. Feature access can differ by country, region, language, model, app and One UI version, and some functions require a network connection.
