Earth Defense Force 6.2: Invaders from Another World launches for PlayStation 5 in Japan on March 18, 2027. Its battles can place roughly twice as many enemies on screen at peak moments, while a new customization system gives players more control over how their weapons behave.
Existing missions are changing too
More than half of the missions carried over from Earth Defense Force 6 have been updated, and new missions are joining the campaign. Formidable enemies that previously appeared only in downloadable content can also emerge during the main story.
Weapons gain their first customization system
The new system can add effects such as combustion ammunition and freezing rockets. It is the first weapon-customization feature in the series, opening combinations beyond simply finding another version of the same gun.
Japanese preorder details
PlayStation Store preorders open at midnight on September 18 in Japan. The standard edition costs 7,700 yen, with a 10 percent preorder discount for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Eligible PS5 or PS4 players of Earth Defense Force 5 or 6 can preorder the 9,900-yen Deluxe Edition at a 20 percent discount.
