SNACK: 3-line summary
- Google is rolling out Health Guardian in the Google Health app, with Pixel Watch setup starting this week where supported.
- The tools are included on eligible Pixel Watch 3, 4 and 5 devices; Fitbit Air trends will require Google Health Premium when they arrive later this year.
- The first monthly reports are due in early October if enough data is collected. The trends are not clinical blood pressure or glucose readings.
Eligible Pixel Watch owners in supported countries can begin setting up Google’s new health trends this week. The first monthly reports come later, in early October, and depend on collecting enough data.

Snackgirls react
AIKO: I’m curious how the monthly pattern builds once there are enough data days. Finishing setup is not the same thing as getting a result.
Nea: I’d like to see the daily sleep-breathing view beside the monthly context. The difference between one night and a longer pattern is what interests me.
Setup comes before the monthly reports
Blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends and sleep breathing quality metrics are included at no extra cost on eligible Pixel Watch 3, 4 and 5 devices. Fitbit Air users are on a different timetable: Google says their blood pressure and insulin resistance trends will arrive later this year with a Google Health Premium subscription.
Google says the monthly blood pressure and insulin resistance insights appear on the first day of a month only when there is enough data. That means at least five consecutive days in a week for blood pressure trends, or seven days in a month for insulin resistance trends.

Patterns, not clinical readings
The blood pressure feature estimates a long-term pattern; it does not replace a cuff or provide a real-time clinical measurement. The insulin resistance trend is neither a diabetes prescreener nor a blood glucose test. Sleep breathing quality offers a daily view of optimal breathing time during sleep and longer-term monthly context, but it is not a sleep apnea prescreener.

Check availability where you live
Country and device availability varies, and Google has not confirmed a South Korean or Japanese launch date for these trends. Its notices also exclude pregnancy from the blood pressure and insulin resistance trends and the sleep breathing quality metric. If symptoms or measurements concern you, speak with a healthcare professional rather than treating an app trend as a diagnosis.
