No HOME access on Switch or smartphones
The official Japanese Pokémon account announced the maintenance on September 30. All Pokémon HOME functions will be unavailable on both Nintendo Switch and smartphones during the work—not just transfers involving FireRed and LeafGreen. The 15:00 end time is planned, not a guaranteed reopening time.

After maintenance, you’ll need version 4.1.0 to use Pokémon HOME again. Update the Nintendo Switch software if you use it, the smartphone app if you use that, and both separately if you use both editions.
Choose carefully before sending Pokémon to another game
Connectivity is scheduled to begin in October 2026 and is not live as of September 30. It will let Pokémon befriended in the Nintendo Switch versions of FireRed and LeafGreen move into HOME and onward to other Pokémon games. This announcement concerns the Switch releases, not the original Game Boy Advance cartridges.
The no-return rule takes effect once a Pokémon from FireRed or LeafGreen enters another game in the series—not simply when it moves into HOME. After that onward transfer, it cannot return to FireRed or LeafGreen. Pokémon from other games cannot be transferred into either title, so decide which partners you want to keep in those adventures before sending them onward.
