BANDAI SPIRITS announced METAL ROBOT SPIRITS <SIDE MS> Black Knight Squad Cal-re.A from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM on October 5, alongside its dedicated, separately sold effect set. The figure stands about 14.5 cm tall; adding the optional light-wing effects creates a display with an approximately 41 cm wingspan.

Red: I want to try arranging a DRAGOON launch pose with those supports. Working out how to space the units around the figure looks like half the fun.
Nea: The white-and-gold knight silhouette is what draws me in. I’d like to recreate that SEED FREEDOM light-wing scene on a shelf.
White armor, gold plating and a chest cannon
Cal-re.A is a finished, articulated robot figure, not a Gunpla kit requiring construction and painting. It uses ABS, PVC and die-cast, with white-dominant armor, gold-colored plating on selected areas and original markings across the body.
The chest armor moves to reveal the high-impulse cannon. To reproduce the expanded backpack configuration, you use the included expanded-state backpack units.
The main figure also comes with two replacement face parts, a rifle, two enhanced swords, sword effects and a dedicated base. Those sword effects are included; the larger light-wing and DRAGOON display comes from the separate set.
The wide-wing display is a separate purchase
The dedicated effect set adds gradient-painted light wings, plus effects and support parts for displaying detached DRAGOON units in a launch configuration. This set is made of ABS and contains no die-cast.
The combined display shown in the product photos uses the main figure together with the separately sold effect set. The photos show product samples and may differ from the finished items.
Japanese preorders for both products open through Premium Bandai’s Tamashii Web Shop on October 9, 2026, at 5 p.m. JST, with shipment scheduled for April 2027. The tax-inclusive Japanese prices are ¥26,400 for the main figure and ¥6,050 for the effect set, with shipping and fees extra.
