Kiwi Ears EMBER assigns two drivers to bass within a six-driver design in each earpiece. Co-developed with Japanese audio reviewer Fugumikan (ふぐみかん), this wired in-ear monitor (IEM) is scheduled to launch in Japan through distributor Naicom on October 9, according to PHILE WEB’s October 2 report.

Red I’d start with a boss-battle soundtrack to hear how that bass pair hits. Before that, I need to make sure the cable works with my player.
Nea I’d bring a favorite character song and listen closely to the voice. I’d like to try the different ear tips, too, and find a fit that lets me settle in with the song.
How the six drivers divide the work
Each earpiece combines two dynamic drivers with four balanced-armature (BA) drivers—tiny transducers used here for the mids and highs. A three-way crossover divides those frequency bands among the drivers, rather than using one driver to cover the whole range.
The bass pair uses a 10 mm composite-PU diaphragm and a 6 mm titanium-plated diaphragm. Two Knowles RAB custom BA drivers handle the midrange, while two RLH custom BA drivers handle the highs.
Kiwi Ears describes the tuning goal as powerful bass, natural vocals and clear highs, balancing enjoyable listening with fine detail. The driver count alone does not guarantee better sound than a single-driver earphone.

A replaceable cable, with a socket to check
The orange medical-grade resin earpieces use a detachable 0.78 mm two-pin cable. Naicom’s official specification lists a 3.5 mm connection to the player; EMBER is a wired earphone, not a true-wireless model. PHILE WEB reports that 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced adapters for the supplied cable are included and can be swapped to match the player.
Check whether your player has a headphone output compatible with the supplied adapters. If it does not, you will need a suitable external adapter or DAC. A carry case and nine pairs of ear tips in three types are included, giving you several options to try for fit.

Japan launch on October 9
The Japanese suggested retail price is ¥23,100 including tax. If you want a replaceable-cable IEM and are exploring bass and vocal tuning, EMBER is an option to audition after its planned release.
Bring familiar tracks to hear whether the balance suits your music and to try the ear-tip fit. Before ordering, check the seller’s listed connections and package contents against your playback setup.
