  • MOONDROP EVO 2 earhook DAC/amplifier modules launched in Japan on October 5.
  • Compatible detachable-cable earphones can be used wirelessly, but the earphones themselves are not included.
  • FitEar and MMCX earhook connectors are planned for later release as separate accessories, not supplied at launch.

MOONDROP’s EVO 2 launched in Japan on October 5, 2026, offering a way to use compatible wired in-ear earphones without a cable running to your phone. Its two earhook Bluetooth DAC/amplifier modules connect in place of the earphones’ detachable cable, so you can keep using a compatible pair.

Red I’d like to try a familiar wired pair without that cable hanging down. I’m curious how the setup would feel when I move around.

Nea I’d like to compare EQ presets with a favorite game soundtrack. I might end up replaying one track just to follow the backing instruments.

Your earphones need the right connector and fit

EVO 2 supplies the wireless electronics, not the earphones that produce the sound. Neither earphones nor a smartphone is included. Before ordering, check the exact connector compatibility and whether the modules physically fit your earphones.

The earhook connectors are replaceable, but the FitEar and MMCX versions are planned for future release as separately sold accessories. Neither is included or available at launch; those earphones will need the corresponding accessory, not the supplied connector.

15 hours per charge, with EQ to explore

MOONDROP rates playback at up to 15 hours per charge. About three additional charges from the case provide up to 45 more hours, bringing the total to a maximum of 60 hours with recharging—not one uninterrupted listening session. These are manufacturer lab figures for continuous music playback using AAC at 50% volume, starting with fully charged modules and case.

A 10-band parametric EQ lets you adjust individual frequency ranges, while tuning presets can be shared and downloaded. EVO 2 supports SBC, AAC, LHDC, LDAC and LC3, but LHDC, LDAC and LC3 also require a compatible phone or source device. LDAC use may shorten battery life and make the connection less stable.

The price in Japan is ¥16,650 including tax.
