Chiikawa’s 2027 mug and plate bring color-shifting stars to the table

Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi travel through a starry night on a new mug and plate, with stars that softly change color depending on the viewing angle. These are the 2027 annual-design items, but their release begins in Japan on October 16, 2026.

A mica finish for the starry sky

The star decoration uses mica to create that gentle color effect. The mug and plate will roll out through Chiikawa Market, Chiikawa Land and Yamaka Shoten’s official online store.

Belly warmers in October, short briefs in November

The belly warmers have an early-October release window, while the short belly-warming briefs follow in late November. Both ranges feature Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi designs and are set for sale at mass-market retailers across Japan.

Gift-money envelopes in different shapes and finishes

Sun-Star Stationery’s small gift-money envelopes are due around late October. Options include a standard style in gentle colors, a metallic shiny-seal style, a format that holds banknotes without folding them, and a die-cut type.

They are planned for Chiikawa Land, Chiikawa Market, stationery shops, fancy-goods stores and supermarkets, though some locations will not carry them.

If you are choosing a character design for yourself or a gift, plan around the product you want. The tableware, belly-warming pieces and envelopes have different release windows, rather than one launch date for the whole lineup.
