Red I’d like to keep the laptop closed and copy a CD to my phone right from the player. One less device to set up.
Nea I’d like to listen to a game soundtrack with its cover art and track titles in view. I’d probably linger over the titles as much as the artwork.
Album artwork on the player, music on your phone
The 3.5-inch color display can show album artwork, artist and album names, and track titles fetched from Gracenote. Retrieving that information requires a Wi-Fi internet connection, and the artwork and music details won’t appear if Gracenote has no matching entry.
For smartphone imports, select CD Reco mode on the player or remote, then scan the on-screen QR code to connect your phone wirelessly. You’ll need the free CDレコミュージック app to import the CD and play the copied tracks on your phone.

CD-R backups need temporary storage
The CD-P1 can also copy your own music CDs to an SD card or USB drive without a computer or smartphone. It supports CD-R backups too, but an SD card or USB drive is required to hold the CD data temporarily.
It also works as a Bluetooth speaker for music sent from your phone. This is an indoor, AC-powered player with no battery, so it needs a power outlet.
I-O DATA has not set a suggested retail price; AV Watch reports an expected retail price in Japan of around ¥34,800.
