As GPT-6 rolls out, a ChatGPT reply can include a calculator you can use or a diagram you can explore alongside the text. The new Intelligent UI feature lets the model assemble an interface for your question directly in the Chat tab.

A calculator you can use inside the conversation
OpenAI’s examples include a savings calculator, a dinner bill splitter and small games playable within the chat. Travel plans can include maps, while an explanation can become an interactive diagram where you change an input and see what happens.
The model chooses how to combine text, graphics, buttons, forms and charts according to the question. A simple text answer remains an option when that is the most useful format.
OpenAI acknowledges that its design judgment and the range of experiences it can create still need improvement. For calculations or planning, check the inputs and results before relying on them: an interactive interface does not guarantee a correct answer.
Answers can appear while GPT-6 is still thinking
Intelligent UI uses a library of native, streamable components and a compiler that processes the interface as the model generates it. This allows the interface to appear progressively, without waiting for the whole response. GPT-6 can also begin answering while it continues to think, adding information through partial responses.
In OpenAI’s internal measurements, GPT-6 Instant began answering questions requiring web search 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant. That figure covers the start of an answer in that comparison, not total completion time or every kind of question.
Free and Go rollout begins October 8
In its October 7 announcement, OpenAI said the global rollout to Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise was starting that day, with Free and Go following from October 8. These are rollout start dates, so access may take time to reach individual accounts.
Chat uses GPT-6 Sol on Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, and GPT-6 Luna on Free and Go. Both are tuned for everyday conversation. Enterprise availability also depends on workplace administrator settings.
Look in the Chat tab as access reaches your account. This release does not change the models powering Work or Codex.
