MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ Phoenix Cyclops can go Dark Phoenix—at a cost

Phoenix Cyclops joins MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls on November 2, 2026 as the first DLC character in the Year 1 Pass. The official trailer introduces his Dark Phoenix transformation: a temporary power boost with risks that include health depletion.

Four Solar Shards unlock Dark Phoenix

Phoenix Cyclops generates Solar Shards through his Optic Blasts. Collecting four allows him to transform into Dark Phoenix, making those blasts part of the route to his powered-up form.

His toolkit covers both long- and close-range combat, with wide-area flame attacks also in the mix. That gives the trailer more to show than a single transformation: there’s an all-rounder to get acquainted with, too.

EVO France offers a preview before November

Attendees at EVO France on October 9–11 can try Phoenix Cyclops at the official booth. This is an on-site preview ahead of his DLC release, not a public downloadable demo.

Separately, Classic and Legacy DLC costumes will be available on November 2, the same day the character arrives.

A Store sale and a three-hour trial

The game’s first PlayStation Store sale began on October 7, with the Ultimate Edition discounted. A three-hour Game Trial also became available that day for eligible PlayStation Plus subscribers.

If you want to try the game before the DLC arrives, check your region’s PlayStation Store listing for the trial’s membership and regional eligibility. Don’t assume every PlayStation Plus tier qualifies.
