Hitech Century published a new review of the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 on October 11, 2026, praising its rich sound, instrument separation and comfort during longer listening sessions. If you are considering a cable as a backup when the battery runs out, there is a catch: the manufacturer’s manual says 3.5mm listening still requires sufficient charge and the headphones to be switched on.

Snackgirls react
Red I’d like to try the 3.5mm cable at my desk and skip Bluetooth for a while. Still can’t escape remembering to charge the headphones, though!
Nea I’d like to compare EQ settings with True Sound on a familiar game soundtrack, especially where strings and vocals overlap. I wonder which details would catch my attention.
The 3.5mm and USB cables work differently
The supplied USB-C-to-3.5mm audio cable connects the headphones’ USB-C port to a suitable 3.5mm analog headphone output on the source device. In this analog mode, the headphone volume and play/pause buttons do not work; use the source device’s controls instead.
The separate USB-C-to-USB-C cable lets the headphones act as a USB audio output for a compatible computer. Select Px8 S2 in the computer’s audio output settings. A suitable computer USB port also charges the headphone battery.

Up to 30 hours and three noise-control modes
Bowers & Wilkins quotes up to 30 hours of wireless playback with active noise cancellation enabled at average volume, with runtime depending on use. Its advertised quick-charge figure is seven hours of playback from a 15-minute charge.
The Bowers & Wilkins Music app lets you turn noise cancellation on, enable Pass-Through to hear surrounding sounds, or turn both off. Hitech Century reports that ANC intensity cannot be adjusted; that does not prevent you from selecting those modes. For sound customisation, the app includes a five-band EQ and a True Sound mode that bypasses tonal adjustments.
