Snackgirls react
Red: The ship combat is what I’d try first. I want to know how much trouble a rookie can get into behind the controls.
Nea: I’d like to get to know the crew. If a character becomes a favourite, I can see myself looking up their background and actor long after I stop playing.
A rookie in the Navy, with a crew to get to know
Steam describes a story that puts you in the UEE Navy, with ship combat, on-foot fighting and relationships with your crew. Squadron 42 is a single-player adventure, distinct from the multiplayer Star Citizen.
The cast includes Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson and Henry Cavill, among others.
Wishlisting is open; launch is planned for April–June 2027
The planned release window is the second quarter of 2027—April through June—not a fixed launch day. For now, the Steam page allows wishlisting rather than preorders or access to a playable game.
Adding it to your wishlist requires signing into Steam. The new listing and trailer are the fresh announcements here, not another newly announced delay.
What the Steam listing says about accounts and languages
The game requires a third-party Roberts Space Industries account, and the Steam listing supports linking that account to Steam.
Steam currently lists English full audio, along with Korean and Japanese interface text and subtitles.
