DOSHISHA announced the ORION SCR-B10 on October 16, 2026, pairing a large, 1980s-style boombox with cassette-to-USB MP3 recording. Alongside its twin cassette decks, it has a slot-loading CD player, an AM/FM tuner, USB MP3 playback and Bluetooth reception for music from a smartphone.

Snackgirls react
Red I want to try the high-speed dubbing and work the deck controls myself. First, though, I’d need to clear a serious amount of shelf space.
Nea I’d be interested in making an MP3 listening copy of an older soundtrack cassette. I’d still want to keep the original tape, too.
Copy a tape—or make an MP3 listening copy
The double cassette decks support normal/Type I tapes for playback, recording and tape-to-tape dubbing, including high-speed dubbing. Cassette audio can also be recorded as MP3 files on a USB memory stick.
CD, radio, Bluetooth audio, AUX and an external microphone can be recorded to either cassette or USB. USB audio and the built-in microphone can also be recorded to cassette, but the built-in microphone cannot record to USB.
USB memory sticks, cassette tapes, CDs, headphones and connection cables are not included.

Allow room for 75cm and 15.6kg
The cabinet measures 750 × 160 × 375mm, excluding protrusions, in width, depth and height. The body alone weighs 15.6kg, so this calls for substantial shelf space rather than easy portability. DOSHISHA specifies eight speaker drivers and a Class D amplifier with 60W total output.
Power comes from AC 100V at 50/60Hz or ten D-cell batteries providing DC 15V; the batteries are sold separately. The manufacturer specifies use in Japan only and states that the unit cannot be used overseas.
November 4 marks the crowdfunding start
The GREEN FUNDING project is scheduled to begin in Japan on November 4, 2026. The SCR-B10 is not currently on sale, and that date is not a confirmed retail release or delivery date.
Product displays are planned for November 4–December 31, 2026, at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA’s 4F GREEN FUNDING Touch&Try and Tsutaya Electrics+ in Futakotamagawa. The exhibition schedule and display details may change.
