Red The screw-lock plug is the bit I want to try—I’m curious how it feels to swap ends and tighten the fitting.
Nea I’d like to compare it with SUPERIOR using a familiar game soundtrack. I’m curious how distinctly the individual instruments come through on each.
Match the plug to your player—and the pins to your earphones
The supplied straight plugs use a screw-lock fitting: 3.5mm for an unbalanced output, or 4.4mm for a compatible balanced output. Swapping plugs does not make an incompatible output balanced or guarantee better sound. A phone with only USB-C needs a suitable separate DAC; these are analog plugs, not USB-C adapters.
At the earpieces, EVOLVER uses flat 0.78mm 2-pin connectors rather than qdc’s usual 2-pin shape. When replacing the cable, check both the pin diameter and connector shape, and do not force a mismatch. Thinner pins can slip out, while thicker ones can damage or loosen the socket.

A dynamic driver and MST share one axis
Each earpiece combines one dynamic driver and one MST, or magnetostatic, driver in a new 10.6mm coaxial assembly. qdc describes the dynamic section as providing the low end and the MST tweeter as contributing the mid-to-high range. The brand positions EVOLVER as a step-up from its entry-level SUPERIOR.
Color that changes with the light
The Magic Powder faceplate changes its appearance with the lighting and viewing angle. The ergonomically shaped shell is a universal design, not a custom ear mold, so its fit will still depend on your ears.
Both single- and double-flange ear tips come in S, M and L sizes, alongside a semi-hard carrying case. Start by checking the output on your current player, then try different tip sizes when you have a chance to audition the earphones.
