SNACK: 3-line summary
- ONKYO has announced three Magic Knight Rayearth earbud editions, with Japanese preorders scheduled to open October 28.
- Each edition features its own heroine’s newly recorded operation prompts, while all three share the same noise-cancelling hardware.
- Shipments are planned for early to mid-March 2027, so these are advance orders rather than an immediate delivery.
ONKYO’s Magic Knight Rayearth true wireless earbuds combine Mokona motifs with newly recorded character voice prompts. The three editions—Hikaru, Umi and Fuu—are scheduled to open for preorders in Japan on October 28, 2026, at 3 p.m. JST.

Red The little Mokona on those white earbuds gets me. I’d want to try them on just to see how that detail looks.
Nea I’m curious what kinds of lines they chose for each heroine’s prompts. I’d like to hear them at the store demo before picking a favorite.
Three character designs, the same noise-cancelling hardware
Shidou Hikaru’s edition uses red, Ryuuzaki Umi’s blue, and Hououji Fuu’s green. Each comes with its featured heroine’s operation prompts, a matching character emblem on the charging case and illustrated packaging. The earbuds also carry ribbon motifs inspired by the characters’ uniforms.
All three share the ANIMA AOW01 MARK II base, an AOW01 successor with active noise cancellation (ANC), ambient sound mode and USB-C or wireless case charging. The ANIMA Studio app offers voice-guidance settings and EQ. The manufacturer’s quoted playback times—about six hours from the earbuds and about 15 hours including case recharges—are measured with ANC off and aptX in use, not with noise cancelling enabled.
Order by December, with delivery planned for March
The Japanese order price is ¥22,000 per edition, including tax and shipping within Japan. Preorders are scheduled to close on December 11, 2026, at 3 p.m. JST, with shipments planned for early to mid-March 2027.
Demo units are planned at ONKYO DIRECT ANIME STORE -Lifestyle- (音アニ2号店) in Akihabara, Tokyo, from October 28 at 3 p.m. JST. Visitors will be able to hear the earbuds’ sound and newly recorded character voices.
The Mokona pouch and wireless charger are separate
A Mokona plush earbud pouch and a Rayearth-themed wireless charger will also be sold separately; neither is included with the earbuds.
If your current pair still works well, the appeal of this collaboration is its character design and voices. Those planning an Akihabara visit can hear the prompts at the scheduled demo before choosing an edition.
