Snackgirls react
AIKO: Those GPU Neural Accelerators make me want to try a local LLM. My next question: how much of that 32GB ceiling would the model leave for everything else?
Nea: I’d like to watch a dark-fantasy environment come together in Blender on a laptop this size. I’d be the one lingering over the lighting and weathered materials.
More cores, with local AI in mind
The standard M6 chip has a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU—two more cores in each than M5. Each GPU core includes a Neural Accelerator, and the chip also has a dual 16-core Neural Engine.
Apple says on-device AI workloads run up to 25% faster than on M5. For users planning to run large language models locally, unified memory starts at 16GB and can be configured to 32GB, with bandwidth of up to 170GB/s.

Wi-Fi 7 arrives without losing the wired connections
Wireless connectivity now includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. There are three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, MagSafe 3, an SDXC card slot and a headphone jack, and the laptop supports up to two external displays.
Apple rates battery life at up to 24 hours. Actual runtime depends on use and configuration, so that maximum should not be taken as the expected duration of a demanding creative or AI workload.
The Liquid Retina XDR display remains, with a nano-texture option and peak HDR brightness of up to 1,600 nits. The 12MP Center Stage camera and six-speaker sound system are also retained.

U.S. preorders open October 28
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at $1,999 in the U.S. and comes in space black or silver. Preorders begin October 28, 2026, with deliveries and store availability starting November 6.
