SIMGOT’s SuperMix 5 wired in-ear earphones launch in Japan on October 30 with four driver technologies and five units in each earpiece. The combination brings a coil-type bone-conduction driver together with dynamic, balanced-armature and micro-planar drivers.

Snackgirls react
Red I want to see how they fit all those different mechanisms into one little earpiece. That’s a lot going on in there.
Nea I’d like to listen to an OST with vocals and strings on these. I’m curious how those parts would come together with the different drivers sharing the work.
How the five drivers share the work
A second-generation 8mm dynamic driver handles bass, two balanced-armature (BA) drivers cover the midrange and upper mids, and a micro-planar driver takes the highs and ultra-highs. The design uses a four-way crossover.
These earphones seal the ear canal with ear tips, while the bone-conduction unit converts electrical signals into vibration. SIMGOT says that unit complements the air-conduction drivers, aiming to enhance bass texture and subtle changes in loudness. Distributor 4Leaf notes that tapping an earpiece or moving vigorously may produce a faint spring-like sound from the bone-conduction unit’s elastic structure, describing that sound as a normal technical characteristic rather than a defect.

Two analog plugs for different outputs
The supplied cable detaches at 0.78mm two-pin connectors and comes with interchangeable 3.5mm unbalanced and 4.4mm balanced plugs. Choose the plug that matches the output socket on your music player or DAC.
Japan launch and expected retail price
SuperMix 5 launches in Japan on Friday, October 30, with no manufacturer-set list price. PHILE WEB reports an expected retail price of around ¥39,400 including tax; that figure is a market estimate, not a confirmed retailer price.
