Civilians behind you, soldiers ahead

At Zhongdu Bridge, civilians stand behind the player as soldiers approach. The developer describes a conflict between obeying orders and protecting the innocent, giving the battle a more personal stake.

Hutuo is presented as a narrative climax. Its quests and environmental storytelling will explore the lives of soldiers and refugees, bringing their everyday experiences into the region’s larger conflict.

Snackgirls react

Red: I want to try switching from Light Spears into a heavy stance break mid-combo. I’m curious how that change will feel in my hands.

Nea: I’m drawn to the people behind the battle line. I hope the soldiers’ and refugees’ stories give me someone to remember after the fighting ends.

The anniversary and Dual Spears arrive separately

A first-anniversary special broadcast is scheduled for November 2, with additional developer insights and gameplay. The November 13 update then brings Hutuo, the Horse Racing Chess and Jianghu Tactics board-game modes, and rewards.

Dual Spears follows in late November, rather than on Hutuo’s launch day. Directed and choreographed by Yuen Woo-Ping, the martial art alternates between offensive Light Spears and stance-breaking Heavy Spears to build Spear Stance combos.

PS5 Pro visuals and DualSense refinements

On PS5 Pro, the developer promises enhanced PSSR and upgraded ray-traced reflections. The announced PlayStation improvements also cover DualSense haptics and triggers, work to reduce frame hitches, and asynchronous-streaming optimizations.
