Anker Liberty Buds 2 shrink the part that sits against your ear

SNACK: 3-line summary

  • Anker launched the Liberty Buds 2 wireless in-ear earbuds in Japan on October 29.
  • A smaller ear-contact section, five ear-tip sizes and three ear-wing sizes offer ways to adjust the fit.
  • Anker rates earbud playback at up to 7 hours with ANC, or 4.5 hours with LDAC and ANC together.

Anker’s Liberty Buds 2 launched in Japan on October 29, 2026, with a compact, rounded design that reduces the shell volume against the ear while retaining active noise cancellation (ANC). The stemless wireless in-ear earbuds cost ¥21,990 including tax in Japan.

Red I want to try the different ear wings during a game. The fit that lets me forget about the earbuds would win.

Nea I’d like to revisit a favorite game’s soundtrack over LDAC. For a long listening session, though, I might leave it off for the extra battery time.

Less shell against the ear

Each earbud weighs about 4.7g with the size 2 ear wing attached. According to Anker, the volume of the shell section that touches the ear is about 41% smaller than on the Soundcore Liberty 5.

The box includes ear tips in five sizes and removable ear wings in three sizes, giving you several combinations to try. Comfort still depends on how those parts fit your ears; a smaller shell alone cannot guarantee it.

Noise control, and what LDAC needs

Anker says its Thus AI chip and six microphones adapt Ultra Noise Cancelling 4.0 to surrounding noise. During calls, a bone-conduction sensor also helps distinguish your voice from background noise.

The earbuds use a 9.2mm dynamic driver and support LDAC. To use LDAC, you need an LDAC-compatible device running Android 8.0 or later, must update both the Anker Soundcore app and the earbuds’ firmware, and then enable the feature in the app. iPhones and iPads do not support LDAC.

Seven hours with ANC, 4.5 with LDAC too

Anker’s maximum playback ratings depend on the listening mode:

  • Normal mode: up to 12 hours on the earbuds alone, or 46 hours total with the charging case.
  • ANC on: up to 7 hours on the earbuds alone, or 27 hours total with the charging case.
  • LDAC and ANC on: up to 4.5 hours on the earbuds alone.

Actual runtime varies with volume and listening conditions. The charging case supports USB-C and wireless charging, but for time away from the case, the rating for your preferred listening mode is the useful figure.
