Red A separate DAC and amp inside wireless earbuds? I want a closer look at how they’ve fitted those parts around the driver.
Nea I’d like a quiet session with a favorite game soundtrack in HIFI mode. With roughly 4.5 hours quoted, I’d choose an album I could listen through without rushing.
What the preorder notice says
HIFIMAN’s official Japanese store lists the same tax-inclusive price and is accepting preorders. Its notice says the earbuds are expected to arrive in Japan within a few weeks; it does not promise that individual orders will ship on the launch date reported by the two publications.
A resistor-based DAC inside the earbuds
The existing hardware design separates the HYMALAYA Mini R2R DAC, amplifier module and driver. A DAC converts digital audio into an analogue signal, and an R2R design uses a network of resistors for that conversion.
The earbuds support Bluetooth 6.0 and the SBC, AAC, LDAC and L2HC codecs. Using LDAC or L2HC requires a compatible phone or other source device.
Seven hours with ANC, 4.5 in HIFI mode
PHILE WEB reports manufacturer-rated continuous playback of approximately seven hours in active noise cancellation (ANC) mode, 4.5 hours in HIFI mode and eight hours in ambient/transparency mode. These are mode-specific playback figures, not a combined total with the charging case. Actual runtime varies with use.
