An 18-minute quest through Bowerstone
Fable’s gamescom 2026 presentation includes 18 minutes of quest gameplay set in Bowerstone, the series’ reimagined capital city. The footage covers exploration, combat and the consequences of player choices.
In the demonstrated version of Bowerstone, players can enter every building and buy every house. The quest also introduces Humphry, the disgraced leader of the Heroes’ Guild.
Strength, skill and will in one combat system
Fable calls its combat system “style-weaving,” combining strength, skill and will. Players can move between melee attacks, ranged weapons and magic during a fight.
The revealed spell list includes Fireball, Lightning, Befowl and Lift. The gameplay shows these abilities used alongside conventional weapons rather than as a separate combat mode.
Launching February 23, 2027
Fable launches on February 23, 2027. Premium Edition early access begins five days earlier on February 18.
The announced platforms include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Xbox players will also have access through cloud, Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.
Steam price and release details
The US Steam listing prices Fable at $69.99 and lists the same February 23, 2027 release date.
