Google Brings Gemini Voice Features to Workspace

Google is bringing voice-based Gemini Audio capabilities to Gmail, Docs, and Keep, giving everyday Workspace tasks a conversational layer. The new features are rolling out this week, with each app using voice for a different kind of work.

Ask Gmail instead of searching message by message

Gmail Live scans the inbox and returns answers during a real-time conversation. Google’s examples include asking for a flight gate number or finding out what is happening at a child’s school that week.

Build a draft through conversation

Docs Live works as a hands-free thought partner and co-writer. It can organize spoken ideas, structure a document, refine its tone, and help produce a context-aware first draft.

With permission, Docs Live can also draw relevant details from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the broader web.

Turn a brain dump into a useful list

Keep Live converts spoken thoughts into organized notes and structured, actionable lists without requiring users to type everything out.

Gmail Live and Keep Live are rolling out to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, while Docs Live is available to Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google says all three features are coming soon to Google Workspace business customers.
