Kirari: Those colorful planets against the black arms would make such a lovely moving display. I want to see how the silhouette changes as they go around!
Nea: I’m curious how the gears make the planets pass one another at different speeds. I’d probably get caught up matching each planet to the orbital period on its panel.
Eight planets, each moving at its own pace
The geared mechanism moves Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune at different speeds. To reset it, you simply align the planets by hand.
Each planet has its own information panel listing its diameter, orbital period and distance from the Sun. There is something to read alongside the motion, whether you want to follow one planet or explore the whole lineup.

Make room for a miniature solar system
The set contains 572 pieces and is intended for builders aged 10 and up. The finished model measures over 38 cm wide, so it will need some room on display.
The reported US price is US$99.99.
For assembly, the LEGO Builder app offers 3D digital instructions that let you rotate and zoom in on the model as you build.
