Kanto TUK Grand is a powered bookshelf-speaker pair built around a 6-inch aluminum woofer in each enclosure and 160W of total RMS amplification. Because the Class D amplifier, DSP and input switching are built into the system, its listed source types can be connected without adding a separate integrated amplifier or AV receiver.

Four ways in, with a few notable omissions

The input panel provides two RCA line-level connections, USB-C audio up to 24-bit/96kHz, optical Toslink up to 24-bit/96kHz and Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive, AAC and SBC. A second USB-C port supplies 5V/2A charging power; it is not another audio input.

A compatible TV can use optical, while a computer can connect over USB-C. A turntable must provide line-level output or feed an external phono preamp. HDMI ARC/eARC, Wi-Fi streaming, a built-in phono stage and a headphone output are not listed.

The 80Hz switch shapes a 2.1 setup

The subwoofer output includes a selectable 80Hz high/low-pass filter. When enabled, bass below the crossover goes to a connected subwoofer while reducing the low-bass work handled by the main speakers; this is not automatic room correction.

Kanto pairs each woofer with a 28 x 35mm AMT tweeter and rates the system from 40Hz to 22kHz, with 320W peak output. Its descriptions of a wider sweet spot, expansive soundstage, effortless clarity and deep bass are manufacturer claims rather than independent listening results.

Measure the shelf—and watch the sale status

Each speaker measures 218 x 295 x 350mm. The active speaker weighs 7.8kg and the passive partner 7.3kg, bringing the pair to 15.1kg. Kanto positions TUK Grand for larger spaces than TUK G2, so room fit and placement still matter.

The official price is $999.99 per pair. StereoNET reported North American sales beginning September 8, 2026, following its September 4 formal-launch report, but Kanto’s product page still showed “coming soon” as of September 8 KST. Official prices and sale dates for South Korea and Japan have not been announced, so the North American date does not establish local availability.

Snackgirls react

AIKO Input switching, Class D amplification and the selectable 80Hz subwoofer split all sit inside one stereo system. I like a signal path where every cable has a clearly defined job—even the second USB-C port is charging only.

Nea A 350mm-deep, 15.1kg pair belongs in the room plan, not just on a wish list. I’d measure the placement first and wait for the official product page to move beyond “coming soon.”
