Majority Fitzwilliam CD AMP combines CD, streaming and 2 x 100W in one full-width component

Majority’s Fitzwilliam CD AMP places a tray-loading CD drive, network streaming and Texas Instruments Class-D amplification rated at 2 x 100W in a single full-width component. Announced on August 27 as part of a four-model European lineup, it received fresh coverage on September 4 and September 6. Majority says all four products are available now in Europe.

Start with the equipment already in the room

The quickest way through the range is to look at the speakers and amplification already on hand.

• Fitzwilliam CD — £179.95 / €199. A slot-loading CD/CD-R/CD-RW source with streaming, radio, Bluetooth and USB MP3, designed for an existing amplifier or active speakers. RCA, optical and coaxial outputs are provided.
• Fitzwilliam AMP — £199.95 / €229. The 2 x 100W option for passive speakers when a CD drive is not needed.
• Fitzwilliam CD AMP — £229.95 / €269. The passive-speaker option that combines the amplifier with CD playback.
• Quadriga Maxi — £349.95 / €399. Its 2.1-channel enclosure includes two full-range drivers and a bass woofer, along with a slot-loading CD drive and the shared streaming and radio functions. Majority rates total output at 200W.

Streaming, radio and physical connections

The Fitzwilliam CD AMP plays CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs and supports Spotify Connect with Spotify Lossless, internet radio, podcasts, DAB/DAB+, FM, Bluetooth and USB MP3. Stereo RCA, optical and coaxial inputs sit alongside passive-speaker terminals, an RCA pre-out and a 3.5mm headphone output.

HDMI ARC/eARC and a phono input are not listed. The optical input can accept a compatible TV source, but it does not guarantee that the unit can replace every TV audio setup. A turntable needs its own line-level output or an external phono preamp.

Local availability and listening results remain open

Independent listening results are not available, so the lineup’s sound quality remains unanswered. Majority also does not state the measurement conditions behind the quoted 200W ratings.

Local pricing, launch dates and warranty details for Korea and Japan remain unknown. Buyers there have reason to wait for distribution, warranty and power or plug information.
