AIKO — Software arriving after the appliance is already in the kitchen gives the refrigerator a post-purchase changelog. Even the laundry room has release notes now.
Nea — The broader recognition of branded and regional foods is the part I’d want to test. Before expecting it on a Family Hub, I’d look for the on-screen notice and confirm the model is eligible.
Samsung is bringing Tizen OS 10.0 features to select existing refrigerators and laundry appliances. The phased rollout starts in September 2026, adding broader food recognition alongside new screen and voice experiences. Timing and available functions vary by product, model year, language and market.
AI Vision broadens its view of the fridge
Eligible refrigerators include camera-equipped 21.5-inch and 32-inch Family Hub models released from 2021 through 2025, along with select 9-inch Family Hub models released in 2025. AI Vision, built with Google Gemini, can recognize a broader range of fresh and packaged foods, including branded and region-specific items.
Samsung is also adding Now Brief and What’s for Today? screen experiences. Some functions require Wi-Fi and Samsung, Google or Microsoft accounts, and results may vary.

Bixby answers a useful laundry-room question
On select Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Washer and Dryer models released in 2024 and 2025, updated Bixby voice recognition supports natural questions such as asking when a cycle will finish. Samsung notes that its quoted responses are examples and may vary.
Applicable models with 7-inch Smart Screens also receive a refreshed interface and Easy Mode, available under Settings > Display > Control Theme.

Look for the update notice on the appliance
Owners will be notified on the appliance screen when the update is available. Samsung has not published a complete model-number list for every market, so a Family Hub or Bespoke AI badge alone does not establish eligibility.
