- $1,020,000 final price, including buyer’s premium
- August 28 sale after 35 bids; a record for an English-language Pokémon card
- 2005 EX Deoxys #107; the sole CGC Pristine 10 in CGC’s population report

A single Gold Star Rayquaza has become the first English-language Pokémon card to cross the seven-figure mark at auction. It sold in Fanatics Collect’s August Premier Auction for $1,020,000 on August 28, 2026, after 35 bids. The final figure includes the buyer’s premium.
The exact card behind the record
The lot was the English 2005 Pokémon EX Deoxys Holo Rayquaza Gold Star #107, illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda. In its September 2 result article, CGC described the sale as a new record for an English-language Pokémon card and the highest result for any TCG card on the Fanatics Collect auction platform.
Fanatics Collect describes Gold Star cards as special chase cards introduced in 2004 and estimates that they appeared at roughly one per two booster boxes. That estimate should not be treated as a precise universal pack rate or a guaranteed pull rate across products.
One Pristine 10, compared with 12 Gem Mint 10s
The sold copy carries a CGC Pristine 10 grade. CGC lists it as the only Rayquaza Gold Star at that grade in its population report, while Fanatics Collect said it was the only Pristine copy recorded by any grading company as of August 2026.
Condition helps explain why the grade needs to stay attached to the result. CGC has noted that EX Deoxys cards are difficult to grade because factory edge wear is common. Among more than 250 copies graded by CGC, 12 received CGC Gem Mint 10 and only one received CGC Pristine 10. A separate CGC Gem Mint 10 copy of the same card sold through Fanatics Collect for $168,000 on July 19. These were two different physical cards with different grades.
How to compare a one-card record
The $1,020,000 result belongs to one completed auction for one uniquely graded copy. It does not establish a price for raw cards or copies with other grades. Any comparison should preserve the exact grade, grading company, certification, condition, language, printing, fee treatment and sale venue before placing two results side by side.
Snackgirls react
Nea — The black-and-gold artwork grabs me first, but the jump from Gem Mint 10 to a one-of-one Pristine 10 is the detail I would keep attached to this card.
AIKO — One auction is one data point, not a market model. Even robots decline to extrapolate from a sample size of one.
