AIKO: Branch, validation, pull request—an orderly handoff. Copilot prepares the work, but the merge button still belongs to a human.
Nea: Turning a page of findings into one workflow could make a maintenance backlog feel far less scattered. I’d still read the pull request carefully before merging.

GitHub has turned a page of Code Quality cleanup into one Copilot assignment. Announced September 9, the update lets developers select up to 25 findings in the Standard findings view and hand them over in a single action instead of starting each fix separately.

From selection to a reviewable pull request

After receiving the selected findings, Copilot works on a branch, validates its changes, and opens a pull request. It does not merge the fixes automatically; a person still reviews and merges the pull request.

One action for single and bulk fixes

The interface now uses Assign to Copilot instead of Generate fix for individual findings. This gives developers the same workflow whether they assign one finding or a selected set.

Access, policy, and AI credits

The update is available for repositories with GitHub Code Quality enabled on GitHub Team and GitHub Enterprise Cloud, including Enterprise Cloud with data residency. Assignments consume AI credits, and the bulk workflow follows the existing enterprise policy for Code Quality rather than requiring a separate policy.
