The JBL Quantum 120 is a wired entry-level gaming headset priced at ¥6,600 through JBL’s online store in Japan. Its 3.5 mm connection means there is no wireless battery to charge or dongle to manage. JBL Japan announced the model on September 10 ahead of its September 17, 2026 release.
One analog plug across PCs, consoles and phones
Official compatibility covers PCs, Macs, game consoles and mobile devices through the 3.5 mm minijack. The target device or controller still needs a usable jack, so its connection arrangement is worth checking beforehand.
Carbon drivers and a removable boom mic
The over-ear headset uses 50 mm carbon dynamic drivers, with a listed headphone frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz, and weighs about 265 g. Its detachable 6 mm cardioid boom microphone has a unidirectional pickup pattern. JBL presents this design as a way to focus voice pickup and reduce surrounding noise.
Breathable fabric covers the ear cushions, while the headband uses silicone. Japan receives four colors: black, ice, coral and purple. Hi-Res Audio support is also listed, although not every console, controller jack or game necessarily provides a Hi-Res signal.
The software boundary matters
JBL Quantum Spatial Sound and QuantumENGINE customization are available for PC and Mac. The broad analog connection does not give consoles the same software processing or profile controls. Before picking the Quantum 120, check the intended device for a usable 3.5 mm jack and consider whether those PC/Mac features matter to your setup.
