Red: Landing on a rare asteroid and turning it into a base is the first thing I’d try. A hulk that might melt down sounds like a salvage run made for pushing my luck.
AIKO: Station ownership, alliances, and leaderboards add an organized layer to open space. I want to see how those systems affect the journey toward a star system’s center.

Hello Games released the free No Man’s Sky Cosmos update for existing PlayStation players on September 9. Sean Murray describes it as the largest overhaul to space in the game’s ten-year history, adding new places to explore and more ways to build, salvage, and cooperate beyond the planets.
Space gets more places to stop
Asteroid belts, space hulks, space outposts, missions, anomalies, and a system map broaden what players can encounter away from planets. The official Cosmos video introduces the update’s space-focused changes.
Salvage a hulk or settle an asteroid
Players can salvage hulks, though some may melt down, while rare asteroids can be landed on and used as building sites. Free-floating modular bases give builders a new home between worlds. Players can also purchase a system space station.
Alliances and a dangerous route inward
Alliances and leaderboards provide ways to work with other players. Those ready for a riskier objective can attempt a dangerous journey toward the center of their star system, while anniversary expedition milestones connect with updates from across No Man’s Sky’s history.
