Mobile Suit Gundam Meets Five Kutani Styles Across Six Plates

STRICT-G JAPAN is bringing six familiar Mobile Suit Gundam mobile suits and characters to Kutani ware. The small-plate set gives each motif a distinct treatment drawn from five named styles of the Ishikawa Prefecture craft.

Five Kutani traditions shape six familiar motifs

Gundam and Gouf appear in Ko-Kutani style, while Zaku II uses Yoshidaya and Char’s Zaku II uses Iidaya. Dom receives the Mokubei treatment, and Char is rendered in Shoza style.

STRICT-G describes Kutani ware as a craft with about 370 years of history. Its decoration combines black gosu linework with thick overglaze applications in five colors: red, yellow, green, purple and deep blue.

Six compact plates presented in wood

Each ceramic plate measures approximately 103 mm in diameter and 20 mm in height. The complete six-piece set comes in an original wooden box and costs ¥13,200 including tax before shipping and fees.

Online preorders lead into four store launches

Premium Bandai’s STRICT-G Online Store is accepting preorders from September 11, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. JST through September 27 at 11:00 p.m. JST, with shipment planned for October 2026. Sales may end once the prepared quantity is reached.

General sales begin September 19 at STRICT-G Tokyo Odaiba, Tokyo Solamachi, NEOPASA Shizuoka downbound and Taga SA downbound. Anyone planning to buy in person should check the chosen store’s stock, since inventory can vary by location.
