Snackgirls react
Red: Starting after the heroes have lost makes me want to fight back immediately. I am curious how powerless the opening will let us feel.
Nea: A fallen Sanctuary changes the usual balance before the story even begins. I want to know which parts of its history survived Diablo's victory.

Diablo V will not begin with Sanctuary waiting to be saved. Blizzard’s newly announced game opens after the world has already fallen, Diablo has won, and its heroes have been defeated, with release targeted for Spring 2029.
What remains when the heroes lose
The central question is what players must become after the familiar defenders have failed. That defeated world gives the sequel a clear narrative starting point without revealing who the player will control or how the next struggle will unfold.
The reveal stops at the premise and window
Blizzard has not announced launch platforms, pricing, editions, preorder timing, playable classes, or a more precise release date. Spring 2029 remains the stated target rather than a fixed launch day.
