Snackgirls react

Red At 7.2 g each, I’d want to take these on a run and see how the revised hooks handle constant movement.

AIKO Pressure-sensitive buttons and multipoint support: fewer opportunities for accidental input and repeated pairing rituals. Sensible error reduction.

Shokz OpenFit Air 2 brings each open-ear earbud down to 7.2 g, a 17.2% reduction from the previous OpenFit Air. The true-wireless ear-hook model launched in Japan on September 16, 2026, priced at ¥19,880 including tax.

A lighter frame without a sealed ear canal

Each earbud uses a 0.75 mm nickel-titanium alloy frame and a revised hook design. These are manufacturer design specifications rather than independent proof of comfort, but they show where Shokz has concentrated this update. The Japanese color lineup includes black, white, and ice blue.

Two opposing drivers inside each earbud

The Bassphere system pairs two opposing 11.8 mm round dynamic drivers. Shokz describes their output as comparable to a custom 16 mm driver, while OpenBass 2.0, four preset EQ modes, and two custom EQ modes provide options for adjusting the sound.

Battery life is rated at up to eight hours per charge and 36 hours with the case under the company’s test conditions. A 10-minute quick charge is rated for up to three hours of playback.

Buttons replace touch controls

Pressure-sensitive buttons replace touch input and are designed to reduce accidental commands caused by sweat, water droplets, or hair. The IP55-rated earbuds use Bluetooth 6.1 with SBC and AAC, and support multipoint, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair.

The similarly named OpenRun Air 2 launched alongside it, but it is a connected 26.4 g bone-conduction model offered in Standard and Mini sizes, with IP67 protection and up to 10 hours of playback. Open-ear listening does not guarantee traffic safety, so volume should remain controlled and local traffic rules still apply.
