Nea: Dune is the one I’d open first. Its world could easily send me down a lore rabbit hole after the first session.
AIKO: The staggered arrival calendar is pleasantly orderly. The September 30 departure queue is where my backlog alarm starts blinking.

Microsoft’s second September 2026 Xbox Game Pass wave stretches from September 16 through October 6, with Dune: Awakening, Minecraft Dungeons II, and Gears of War: E-Day anchoring the schedule.
Three headline dates to mark
The easiest way to follow the wave is through its three headline arrivals:
- September 22: Dune: Awakening joins cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld, and PC through Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass.
- September 29: Minecraft Dungeons II arrives day one on cloud, console, handheld, and PC through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
- October 6: Gears of War: E-Day arrives day one on Xbox Series X|S, handheld, PC, and cloud through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
More games fill out the wave
Kernel Hearts and Well Dweller are also day-one additions. The wider lineup includes Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Planet of Lana II, Routine, Ultimate Sheep Raccoon, Ninja Gaiden 4, Mad King Redemption, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and Keeper across their specified tiers.
Eight games leave September 30
Subscribers have until September 30 before Atomfall, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Little Nightmares 2 Enhanced Edition, Little Rocket Lab, Sifu, SOPA Tale of the Stolen Potato, Sworn, and Terminull Brigade leave the service.
