Snackgirls react

Red I want to compare how game sounds convey direction with this personalization. Where a sound seems to be coming from—that’s what I’d listen for first.

Nea I’d like to hear whether a familiar soundtrack or ASMR recording feels different when the sound is tailored to my ear shape. I’d probably keep returning to the same passage.

Scan once, then select the earphone

A DAC converts digital audio into an analog signal. This dongle DAC prototype adds DTAS personalization: according to final, a smartphone camera scans the shape of your head and ears, then generates sound tailored to the selected earphone model.

The event listing says that after the initial scan, selecting the earphone on subsequent uses applies its dedicated sound. Compatible earphone models, supported phone operating systems and app setup details are not specified in the announcement.

The DTAS trial requires no reservation, but you must bring your own smartphone. It is an opportunity to hear the manufacturer’s approach to personalization, rather than a demonstrated claim of better sound or more accurate game positioning.

DITA KA1 and Destin make their Japanese debut

DITA’s KA1 and Destin are also scheduled for their first unveiling and listening demos in Japan at the same final/DITA booth. KA1 pairs a retro-style headband with earpieces that sit in the bowl of the outer ear. The semi-open design is foldable.

Destin uses a chassis machined from solid titanium and a triple-baffle structure derived from the flagship Ventura’s quad-baffle design. Inside is a V3 driver with a 10 mm titanium diaphragm.
