Kirari: The green D-pad cushion would be my first photo. That familiar shape should look like a crisp graphic accent on a sofa.
AIKO: Castors and built-in storage make game mode deployable and reversible. Roll the setup aside, store the controllers, and the shared room returns to ordinary duty.

IKEA and XBOX are bringing controller shapes into everyday furniture with YXSTABY, a nine-piece collection that starts rolling out sequentially at IKEA stores across Japan and the Japanese online store on October 1, 2026. The eye-catcher is a thumbstick stool that tilts with its sitter, while the wider lineup helps gaming setups fit into ordinary shared rooms. Availability may vary by store and timing.

The thumbstick leaves the controller
The ¥7,990 thumbstick stool was developed using original XBOX controller 3D design files. It reproduces the grip texture and tilts with the person sitting on it, but it is furniture rather than an electronic controller or input device. All prices in this article include Japanese consumption tax.
- Green D-pad cushion: ¥1,999
- Shiny stainless-steel D-pad platter: ¥1,999
- Mirrored display box for controllers, figures and other small collectibles: ¥3,999

Five pieces that reorganize the setup
- Gaming lounge chair: ¥15,990, with support for leaning forward or back and a controller pocket
- Monitor stand: ¥4,999, raising one or two screens with places for a phone, headphones and controller
- Mobile TV stand: ¥17,990, with rear storage and castors; IKEA describes it as its first TV stand of this kind
- Mobile side table: ¥24,990, with castors and controller storage
- Laptop support with storage: ¥3,999, combining a portable storage box with a lid that doubles as a laptop stand

A shared-room brief across all nine pieces
One designer from each team worked together on every piece in YXSTABY. Their brief focused on gaming in ordinary shared rooms as well as dedicated gaming rooms, bringing storage, movement and display into the same collection as the controller-shaped furniture.
