In the U.S., the $199 Bose Sport Open Earbuds prioritize active use with an IP54 soft silicone C-arm cuff and textured physical controls. The $299 Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) cost $100 more and add Cinema Mode, aptX Adaptive on compatible Android devices, and up to nine hours of playback.
Two open-ear designs, neither with ANC
Both models are cuff-style true-wireless earbuds built around Bose OpenAudio. Neither offers active noise cancellation. Shared features include SpeechClarity, Auto Volume, Bluetooth 5.4, two-device multipoint, SBC, AAC, Google Fast Pair, and wireless charging.
An open-ear design does not guarantee safety on roads or during exercise. Volume should remain controlled, with local traffic and facility rules taking priority.
Sport durability or Ultra playback features
The Sport model is rated for up to seven hours per charge, with its case providing up to 22 additional hours. Its IP54 rating covers sweat, splashes, and dust, while the textured buttons offer physical operation during active use.
The Ultra model has IPX4 protection and a beveled metallic cap. Bose says its revised driver delivers deeper bass and higher volume than the first generation, while Cinema Mode uses TrueSpatial processing for video and podcasts. Battery life is rated at up to nine hours, plus 19.5 additional hours from the case. Snapdragon Sound with aptX Adaptive is available on compatible Android devices.
U.S. sales begin in October
Bose opens U.S. preorders on September 19, 2026, followed by U.S. availability on October 1. South Korean and Japanese pricing, preorder terms, and release dates have not been announced.
A post-launch firmware update is planned to add Google Find Hub, Alexa+, and Apple Music shortcuts to both models.
