Snackgirls react
Kirari: I’d start with Peach and see which expression catches my eye. I might end up lingering on one face longer than I meant to.
Nea: I’d like to try calling up Luigi with his wooden block. That little connection between a physical object and a familiar character is a detail I could get attached to.
Explore their expressions, then let them rest
Following the Mario and Yoshi face-play apps, the new additions let users touch Luigi’s or Peach’s face and explore their expressions.
The characters fall asleep after playing, and users cannot play with them while they are asleep. Nintendo presents that pause as a cue for children to take a break.
Mobile comes later; wooden blocks are optional
Smartphone and tablet versions are planned for later, with no release timing decided yet. The current announcement covers the Switch downloads in Japan.
After software updates, the Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi character blocks from the My Mario wooden-block series can call up the matching face play in the Switch apps. These blocks are optional—you do not need one to download or play the free apps. The apps do not support amiibo other than the My Mario character blocks.
