Cursor lets you message local coding agents from your iPhone

Cursor’s October 6 update lets you keep up with a local coding agent after leaving your desk. Remote Control in the Cursor iOS app shows what the agent is doing and lets you send a follow-up message, while the coding work stays on your computer.

Connect to an agent already running

Download the Cursor iOS app and sign in. Computers linked to your account appear automatically. Tap the computer you want to connect to, then approve the pairing request in the Cursor desktop app.

Select an agent from the list to view its activity or send it a message. If you started a coding task at your desk, you can check its progress and send another instruction from your iPhone while you’re away.

Your computer needs to stay awake

Remote Control doesn’t move agents to the cloud, and it doesn’t require cloud agents. The original computer must remain on and online; the phone connects to the work running there.

To prevent sleep while you’re away, turn on “Keep this computer awake” under Remote Control in Cursor’s desktop settings. For a laptop, Cursor’s instructions require keeping it plugged in with the lid open.

Enterprise teams need an admin to enable it

Remote Control is enabled by default except in Enterprise organizations. Enterprise admins can switch it on under Org settings > Security and identity > Remote control.
