SOUNDPEATS’ Aura Nebula true wireless earbuds go on general sale in Japan on October 9, 2026, following an earlier preregistration period. Their unusual feature is a four-type, five-driver design, with different units assigned to bass, midrange and higher frequencies.

Red I’d put a busy boss-battle theme first on the listening list. How does that five-driver setup handle bass, melody and high notes all at once?
Nea I’d like to linger over the quieter layers of a favorite soundtrack. First, I’d want to check my phone’s codec support and find tips that fit comfortably.
How the five drivers share the music
SOUNDPEATS describes the drivers’ roles as follows:
- One 10mm dynamic driver handles bass.
- Two balanced-armature, or BA, drivers cover the midrange and upper mids.
- One 6mm planar driver handles the upper mids.
- One micro-planar driver covers ultra-high frequencies.
Three-way crossovers and digital signal processing (DSP) divide the frequency bands. The company says its tuning aims to make the separate drivers sound like one coherent unit. That remains a manufacturer’s design goal: the number of drivers alone does not establish how good the earbuds will sound.

Check your phone and fit before ordering
Aura Nebula supports aptX Lossless and LDAC, but your phone or other playback device must support the relevant codec too. Earbud support alone does not guarantee a lossless connection.
The SOUNDPEATS app offers 12 EQ presets, a 10-band EQ and adaptive EQ for adjusting the sound. Those controls provide another way to tailor listening beyond choosing a codec.
Each earbud weighs about 8g, and the included silicone tips come in S, M, L and XL. If you can try them before buying, check both the fit and how the weight feels. There is no need to replace working earbuds solely for a higher driver count; a listening and fit check can wait until you have that opportunity.
SOUNDPEATS rates playback at up to seven hours from the earbuds, or up to 28 hours with case recharges included. The charging case supports both USB-C and wireless charging.
The black model’s regular Japanese price is JPY 35,880, including tax. Check the latest availability before ordering.
